In the interests of equal-opportunity FUD concerning overheating laptops, I bring you Dell’s cavalcade of exploding, burning and melting laptops, a problem of which they’ve been aware of for several years if this report is true. Whatever I might say about Macbooks and MBPs being too hot (and seriously, can we get a firmware release that allows the user to set the temperature at which the fans turn on?), even I must admit that not one Apple laptop has ever exploded due to overheating—at least, not to my knowledge.
