So, I think that I had an orgasm when you said, “D70.”
Rawr! Hehe. Now all your readers are going to think that I’m warped. In all seriousness, a D70 would be fabulous as I have been lusting over a magical SLR lately. Sigh. Of course, even when I have a bit of cash, I’m probably going to have to settle for something cheaper like a D50 or a Canon Digital Rebel. That’s cool. I accept my amateur status. I just want a better toy. Wait a second, that sounds even dirtier! Damn it. I can’t win. >_

Adi, I didn’t know you were a big camera geek! When did this happen? I should introduce you to my photojournalism friend, he’s got a D100 (or a D2H, I can’t remember if he upgraded) and huge lenses.
Frankly, these days I think a giant SLR would be wasted on me. I just wouldn’t take it anywhere and then it’d get no use and what’s the fun of that? I helped another friend of mine choose a camera on boxing day—a compact Fuji that’s gotten great reviews for low-light performance, and I’m waiting for the manual version to come out. It’ll be hella expensive for a compact point-and-shoot, though.
But hey, if I’ve got that much to spend on a camera, surely I’ll have enough for two, so I can get the D70 and the Fuji. And then get that laptop I’ve been thinking of buying, and that Wacom tablet. Then I can live in a cardboard box, secure in the knowledge that my consumer whoredom has indirectly led to the downfall of civilization. Sweet!

OMG! Cardboard box living! Rock on. I’ll help you fight for squatter’s rights. Public interest law, baby! You come to the legal aid clinic and I will hook you up. Represent, yo.
I’m sort of a newbie photography geek. Seriously, I have a major flickr addiction that is ruining my life. I’ve only been bitten by the photography bug fairly recently. I feel like I wasted so many photo ops while travelling. Bleh. Then again, I got some good practice and am improving. I’m using a Canon PowerShot S500 now that was handed down to me from my father. It’s a good little cam that meets my current needs.
Yes, please introduce me to your friend. But first let us get together and catch-up over some delicious food (that I will photograph and put on flickr.)
